However, on Thursday May 24, President Trump canceled the meeting after, as Trump wrote in a letter, "based on [Kim Jong Un's] tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in [his] most recent statement." North Korea and South Korea still seem to be working towards a solution.  Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong Un held an unannounced meeting on Saturday May 26, 2018 "to ensure the upcoming high-stakes summit between Kim and U.S. President Donald Trump is a success, South Korean officials said." The meeting eventually took place as planned on June 12, 2018 in Singapore. • Reducing uranium stockpile by 98% to 660 pounds (estimates indicated Iran had enough uranium to create 8-10 bombs before this reduction)
  • Limiting enrichment of uranium to 3.67% (3-4% enrichment can be used for nuclear power; 90% enrichment can be used for weapons)
  • Reducing the number of centrifuges (used to enrich uranium) from almost 20,000 to no more than 5,060
  • Closing of the Fordo enrichment site and only allowing research and development of the Natanz site (these are the only two sites for enrichment in Iran)
  • No heavy-water reactors or accumulation of heavy water (key component for development of nuclear weapons)
  • Allowing International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) to inspect any facility in the country deemed suspicious within 24 days of a request, with oversight from an international commission.
  • Economic sanctions were lifted to allow Iran access to over $100 billion in frozen assets and the global financial markets for trade; also allowed to resume selling oil internationally (cost the country more than $160 billion)
"US experts estimated then that if Iran had decided to rush to make a bomb, it would take two to three months until it had enough 90%-enriched uranium to build a nuclear weapon - the so-called 'break-out time'.  The Obama administration said the JCPOA would remove the key elements Iran would need to create a bomb and increase its break-out time to one year or more."   [post_title] => Trump Threatens To Cancel The 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal, Which Severely Reduced The Amount Of Uranium And Enrichment Capabilities In Iran To Energy Production Only; EU Affirms Commitment Without U.S. [post_excerpt] => [post_status] => publish [comment_status] => closed [ping_status] => closed [post_password] => [post_name] => trump-threatens-cancel-2015-iran-nuclear-deal-severely-reduced-amount-uranium-enrichment-capabilities-iran-energy-production-eu-affirms-commitment-without-u-s [to_ping] => [pinged] => [post_modified] => 2018-05-20 13:33:06 [post_modified_gmt] => 2018-05-20 13:33:06 [post_content_filtered] => [post_parent] => 0 [guid] => http://factualuprising.com/?p=2593 [menu_order] => 0 [post_type] => post [post_mime_type] => [comment_count] => 0 [filter] => raw ) [3] => WP_Post Object ( [ID] => 2589 [post_author] => 1 [post_date] => 2018-05-19 13:36:33 [post_date_gmt] => 2018-05-19 13:36:33 [post_content] => Federal funds are already prohibited from being used for abortions or abortion related services under the Hyde amendment, first passed in 1976. In March of 2017, Congress voted to repeal a rule that allowed federal funding for organizations that perform abortions as long as that funding wasn't specifically for abortions.  Repealing this rule effectively allows states to deny funding to any family planning organization that provides abortions, regardless of whether or not those funds specifically go to abortions. A new rule under review by the White House would extend this federal funding prohibition to any organization that also refers a patient to another organization or facility for abortions.
