Trump Fails To Condemn Anti-Semitism, Empowers Anti-Semitic Behavior From Trump Supporters

On multiple occasions Trump supporters have publicly attacked Jewish people after anti-Trump statements and/or articles using anti-Semitic language.  They have “threatened New York Times reporter Jonathan Weisman, called for the death of conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro and his children, and told conservative writer Bethany Mandel she deserved ‘the oven.‘”

After writing a critical piece in GQ about Melania Trump, Julia Ioffe faced a “torrent of antisemitic, vitriolic and threatening messages” from Trump supporters defending Melania.

Trump has failed to condemn anti-Semitic language and actions. “’We interpret that as an endorsement,’ Andrew Anglin, the founder of the neo-Nazi website the Daily Stormer, named for the Hitler-era tabloid Der Stürmer, told The Huffington Post in an email.”

The Anti Defamation League (ADL) reports an 86% increase in anti-Semitic incidents when comparing the first three months of 2017 compared to the first three months of 2016.
