Trump Adds Mexico, Canada, Europe To Countries With 25% Tariff On Steel, 10% Tariff On Aluminum
“A 25 percent tariff on steel imports and a 10 percent tariff on aluminum imports from the EU, Canada and Mexico” went into effect on June 1, 2018.
In response, “The E.U. said it would impose import taxes on politically sensitive items like bourbon from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s home state of Kentucky. Mexico said it would levy tariffs on American farm products, while Canada zeroed in on the same metals that Trump had targeted.”
Steel and aluminum tariffs were introduced for many other countries on March 8, 2018.
