Trump Metal Tariffs Have Cost Ford Automotive $1 Billion And Will Result In Layoffs

Ford CEO Jim Hackett has noted Trump’s tariffs on aluminum and steel “took about $1 billion in profit from us — and the irony is we source most of that in the U.S. today anyways.”

Ford announced it would be making layoffs as a result, but the total number of jobs to be cut is unknown.
