Trump Signs Executive Order Seeking To Reduce Number And Cost Of Regulations

Trump Issued an executive order on January 30 titled “Presidential Executive Order on Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs” which states “for every one new regulation issued, at least two prior regulations be identified for elimination” and “the cost of any new regulations, including repealed regulations to be finalized this year shall be no greater than zero unless otherwise required by law”.

According to an anonymous source within the White House, this executive order is also a step towards creating a federal limit on the cost of new regulations.  The cap for 2017 regulation spending increases is set at $0.
