Republican Congressional Plan For Affordable Care Act/Obamacare Replacement Fails To Move Forward

In Healthcare   Last Updated: July 30, 2017

House Republican leaders, facing a revolt among conservatives and moderates in their ranks, pulled legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act from consideration on the House floor” on Friday, March 24, 2017.

Paul Ryan noted “we came really close today, but we came up short” with regard to getting enough votes to get the bill passed.

The draft plan, also known as the American Healthcare Act (or AHCA), was expected to cost more for some insured people, reduce the total number of people insured, and reduce the federal budget deficit.
