President Obama Issued Fewer Executive Orders Per Year (Average Of 35) Than Most Presidents; Trump Signed 55 In First Year

President Obama issued fewer executive orders per year than most presidents, averaging 35 each year over his 8 year term.  President George W. Bush issued 36 per year, President Clinton issued 46 per year, President H.W. Bush issued 42 per year, and President Reagan issued 48 per year.  President Franklin Roosevelt issued the most on average with 307 per year.

President Trump issued his 45th Executive Order of his first year in office on August 28th, after approximately 7 months in office.

As of February 20, 2018, Trump had signed 59 Executive Orders, with an average of 55 per year.
