American Lobbyist Sam Patten Pleads Guilty For Failing To Register As Agent Of Pro-Russian Political Party In Ukraine After Helping 4 People Secure Tickets To Trump’s Inauguration
On Friday August 31, 2018 American lobbyist Sam Patten “pleaded guilty to failing to register as a foreign agent for a Russia-aligned Ukrainian political party, and to helping the Ukrainian oligarch who had funded that party illegally purchase four tickets to Mr. Trump’s inauguration.”
“Mr. Patten [allegedly] arranged for the purchase of four tickets for $50,000 by funneling the oligarch’s money through an American ‘straw’ purchaser in violation of rules barring the inaugural committee from accepting money from foreign nationals.”
Trump’s former Presidential campaign manager Paul Manafort was removed from his job after documents revealed he had been hired to promote the interests of the Russian government and had received payments for this work through the same Russia-aligned Ukrainian political party.
