Donald Trump Jr. Met With Russians At Trump Tower In June Of 2016 Expecting Dirt On Hillary Clinton But Did Not Receive Any, According To Senate Hearing Testimony
Donald Trump Jr. met with several Russians in Trump Tower on June 9, 2016 seeking “‘potential information about an opponent,’ he told congressional investigators, according to documents released Wednesday by the Senate Judiciary Committee.”
That information he was seeking was about Hillary Clinton, which would help his father’s campaign for President.
“Instead, lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya droned on about a 2012 law known as the Magnitsky Act that had imposed sanctions on Russia for human rights abuses and has been a particular vexation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
While President Trump at first denied the purpose of this meeting as seeking information on Clinton from the Russians, he later admitted it on Twitter.
Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics – and it went nowhere. I did not know about it!
