Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn Cooperated With FBI Investigation Into Trump’s Collusion With Russians; FBI Recommends Minimal Prison Time For Flynn
Robert Muller, the special counsel leading the investigation into Trump’s collusion with the Russians, recommended Trump’s former National Security Adviser be granted minimal prison time for his assistance in the investigation.
“Flynn has sat for 19 interviews with the special counsel and other Justice Department offices, and his early cooperation gave prosecutors a road map for their Russia investigation and may have helped to encourage others to cooperate, the filing states.”
“‘His early cooperation was particularly valuable because he was one of the few people with long-term and firsthand insight’ into the subject of Mr. Mueller’s investigation — Russia’s election interference and whether any Trump associates conspired, prosecutors wrote in a sentencing recommendation memorandum.”
