George H.W. Bush Administration Used Private Server Owned By the Republican National Committee

The George H.W. Bush administration used a private email server owned by the Republican National Committee, failing to properly store and archive emails.  While it was thought that 22 million emails sent to and from members of the administration disappeared between 2003 and 2009, the emails were later recovered.
